This Claymore is an exact replica of the William Wallace sword on display in Stirling's Wallace monument. The recorded account states that the blade was with Wallace when he was captured, and the sword was gifted to the sheriff of Dumbarton as a reward for betraying him. It is also recorded that the hilt of the original was ordered to be updated during the renaissance period, but other than that, the sword's dimensions and style remained true to what Wallace weilded in the 13th century. Given the unique rings and hooks of the hilt, it is supposed Wallace had a purpose for every feature. In this replica, care was taken to preserve each shape and curve. The grip is leather, as the original, and the rest of the hilt is hand forged with a hammered finish. It stands 5'6" and weighs only 6lbs, exactly like the real one.
