With a blade of 17 inches and a 4.5 inch hilt, I couldn't resist calling this 'The 1745', in commemoration of the great Highlander rebellion of that year in history. The dirk itself is based on examples of that era in style and dimensions. The Bog Oak scabbard is creatively carved with knotwork and thistle. The grip is also Bog Oak and the fittings are all of Gunmetal Bronze. It has a dangerous feel in the hand with it's lovely heft, the spine of the blade being over 3/8" thick near the hilt. High carbon steel blade, hardened tempered, and sharpened.
