This is an early Lowland Claymore style sword based on the State Sword of King Robert the Bruce, which was owned by Bruce and possibly even used in the Battle of Bannockburn. The blade, crossguard, and pommel are near exact replications of the original, and the hand carved Bog Oak grip with brass crowns is an imaginative interpretation. Carvings include: the Rampant Lion from Bruce's shield, the king on horseback from the 1st Great Seal of Bruce, Saltire X pattern running the length of the grip as depicted on the brass plate in Dunfermline Abbey, and the interlace heart pattern from the monument where his mummified heart is buried at Melrose Abbey. Crossguard and pommel are steel with antiqued blacksmith's finish, and the blade is high carbon steel, hardened and tempered.

Blade 44" (112 cm), 59" (150 cm) overall, balance point 6" from hilt
