True to the basic shape and construction of 18th and19th century dirks, this majestic piece highlights strong symbols of national identity. It's artwork is inspired by the Crown Jewels of Scotland and heraldic images from the pages of a 1611 King James Bible. The perched lion is carved in ebony and crowned with Jasper stone set in bronze, with sterling silver and brass twisted wire. The scabbard is bird eye figured maple with foliage and thistle themed carvings. A matching theme is etched on the 12" long high carbon steel blade. Full tang, threaded with a pommel nut. The blade is hardened, tempered, and unsharpened, but can be sharpened upon request. Fittings are of brass and engraved sterling silver.
