The basic shape of this hand and a half is based on a sword in the Wallace Collection, London, one of few remaining examples of this style from the 15th century. The original artwork on sword and scabbard is not based on any historical example, but tailored to the elegance of this medieval classic. Beech scabbard carved on both sides. Burl wood grip, polished steel fittings, sterling silver and brass twisted wire. Blade and pommel engraved during the forging process. Fully hardened and tempered high carbon German steel blade, sharpened, 34". 42" total length.
