Starting on the Scottish Arming Sword

vogieforge

The first issue to address was making larger sand casting frames for the broad, angular cross guard of this sword. Basically two simple box frames with two pins for matching the sides. After cutting the wood to size I glued and screwed them together. It's a larger version of the iron casting flask held by hand in the picture.
