Blacksmith's Finish

I prefer to use the centuries old Blacksmith finish, also called rust bluing, for Claymores. It requires controlled rusting using acids until the steel is an orange brown colour. Then it is boiled until black. It gives a good protection against rust and corrosion, since the surface has already been rusted.
